CCDS Boys Basketball Tryouts for Grades 6*, 7 & 8:

October 24:  Marsh Outside Basketball Courts, 3:30-5pm
October 25:  Marsh Outside Basketball Courts, 3:30-5pm
Bring a ball if you have one!
Athletes must make both tryouts

The 7th and 8th grade boys basketball coach is Chris Nixon

*Note:  6th graders are welcome to tryout.  Trying out for a team is a good experience for 6th graders.  Even if they do not make the team, they get the opportunity to see what is necessary to play at the next level. In the event we need more players at a given grade level, athletes may be asked to "play up" a grade level.  Examples: If there are not enough 8th graders for a team, 7th graders may be asked to play on the 8th grade team.  If there are not enough 7th graders to fill a team, 6th graders may be asked to play on the 7th grade team. However, this is not a guarantee to any player.  I have informed the coaches at tryouts that a 6th grader could beat out a 7th grader for a position. However, in the coaches opinion, the 6th grader must be far superior to the 7th grader in their skill level.  In other words, a close decision between a 6th and 7th grader will go to the 7th grader.  Everyone has the opportunity to try out, no one is guaranteed a position.  Any questions or concerns may be directed to me at

Mike O'Connor
