Parent Teacher Partnership (PTP)Top of Page

The PTP is our parent organization that functions in the same manner as a PTA or PTO at district schools. This group was formed as a conduit for assisting teachers and administration in the organization of our parent force for the overall good of our school community. The parent community elects PTP officers once a year, and this leadership group facilitates community activities, such as Grandpeople’s Day, Back to School Night, New Parent Orientation, 100th Day of School Celebration, and Multicultural Day, among many others.

PTP hosts monthly meetings for parents to discuss various topics, such as curriculum, fundraisers, or any issues that have arisen that parents would like addressed. Often the Principal speaks on a topic or a teacher or class visits to discuss what is going on in the classroom.

PhilosophyTop of Page

As we are a Charter School, much of our philosophy hinges on parents and families being involved in their student’s education

It is proven by a great deal of prominent educational research that when parents or family members are involved at school in the education of their child, the child’s success in school dramatically increases. In addition, we seek to create a school environment that invites family participation and involvement and that works as a community united in a common purpose. In order to create a strong school community where every child can reach his or her fullest potential, each family must be involved at the school.

Just as we view each child as a unique individual, so we see each family as a unique partner in their child’s education. Just as each child has his or her strengths and challenges, so does each family. With this belief, CCDS has several ways for families to be involved.
