It was Safety Week at CCDS. To find out more information, click here.

In case of a catastrophic event that causes the school to be evacuated, the Safe School plan calls for an alternative meeting site where parents can meet with school officials to pick up their children.  The alternate school site is the Boys and Girls Club Gymnasium located at 601 Wall Street, Chico, CA.  Click here for the School Evacuation Plan.
Flu & Immunization Information

Flu Outbreak Strategy for CCDS:

In anticipation of another active flu season this year, we have implemented the recommendations of the CDC. Students with flu-like symptoms will be isolated and required to wear a mask until picked up by a parent.  Please make sure that your emergency information is up to date in the office so that we can contact you in the event your child needs to be sent home.

Download a symptom screening tool for parents, in english or spanish, that you may use at home and a flu guide for parents from the CDC.  Please contact our School Nurse, Patty Mott, with any questions or concerns.

New Rule:  Shots Before School

Beginning in 2011-2012, all 7-12th graders are required to get a whooping cough vaccine (Tdap) before starting the school year.  Please read the informational flyer and get ahead of this new requirement by contacting your doctor today!
Bullying Prevention
CCDS believes that school safety is the number one priority.  Bullying prevention will be a major topic of conversation in January 2011.

Please read the new
Bullying Prevention Policy passed by the Board of Directors in December.

We will be holding parent information nights in January, in addition to student group discussions.  Parent nights are January 4 (K-5) and January 6 (6-8).  Both nights begin at 6:30 in the MUR.
School Visitation Policy
We want you to come and visit, but please follow our School Visitation Policy for the safety of our students!

Please read the new
School Visitation Policy passed by the Board of Directors in April.
Parent Driver Information
Study Trips are the cornerstone of our academic program, providing a real learning experience that ties back to the learning in the classroom.  We need and appreciate our parents and their willingness to chaperone and drive on Study Trips.  Below is the Parent Driver Study Trip Quiz that every parent must take, print and sign every school year, if you are a returning CCDS parent.
