Dear Parents,

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. 

There are a couple of pieces of work coming home today that I wanted you to look for:  there is a capitalization quiz in their writing folders, and graded jobs (2 each) for setting, character and vocabulary, in their reading folders. 

The rubric for the reading grades is on the bottom of the syllabus (back of the first page of the folder). 

Any work can be re-done for an averaged grade as long as it is turned in before the last week of the trimester.  Tests can also be retaken for an averaged grade.  The test retake date for the caps quiz is this Thurs. at lunch.

In other news: 

Reading:  We'll be working on Tuck ch. 6 and 7 this week, focus on making personal connections and overall theme

Social Studies:  Cro-Magnon, analyzing artifacts, comparing skulls of Lucy through Cro-Magnon

Don't forget picture day is tomorrow!  Order forms are coming home today.
