Sarah Sawyer

Hello! I am so excited to be joining the CCDS team. I have taught 4th grade for five years in Butte County. 4th grade is fantastic! I love connecting with students and families, and sharing in the whole learning process as we go. I firmly believe in lifelong learning, and am so glad to be part of a school community that embodies this mindset. My teaching philosophy is rooted in educating the whole child and nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a genuine interest in the world around us; ultimately, I care about shaping good humans. I am so looking forward to taking part in all the learning that CCDS has to share. 

I have lived in Chico now for almost 7 years, and love everything it has to offer. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. My son is a brand new learner, and we love sharing our love of the outdoors with him. My family spends a lot of time biking, skiing, hiking, cooking, and gardening. I love traveling and learning about other cultures as well, and bringing what I learned back to the classroom. This is going to be a wonderful year!
