I am so excited to be starting my fourth year of teaching and my second year teaching middle school math! I have always wanted to be a teacher and love the energy, curiosity, and personality that students bring to the classroom. My teaching journey started in first grade before I made the jump to middle school math, where I get to share my love of math every day.
I am a proud Chicoan, born and raised, and a Chico Country Day alumna! I completed my student teaching at CCDS in 2022 and was lucky enough to officially join the team as a teacher in 2023. It is so special to now teach at the school that was such an important part of my own childhood. I attended Cabrillo College, where I played volleyball, before transferring to Chico State and earning my multiple subject teaching credential and supplemental math credential.
In my classroom, I love creating an environment where students feel confident in math, comfortable sharing their ideas, and know that mistakes are encouraged, because that’s how we grow! I believe students learn so much from each other, so you’ll often find my students working in groups, talking through their thinking, and learning from one another.
Outside of school, my favorite place to be is with my family. I am a very proud mom to my sweet two year old boy, Briggs, who is the best part of my world. Being a mom is my favorite role I’ve ever had, with being an aunt coming in a very close second! Most of my time outside of school is spent with my little family, my brother and his family, and enjoying the Chico community I love so much, camping, going to beach and more.
