Heather Bettencourt

I’m excited to begin another year here at CCDS. This will be my fifth year at CCDS but my first year teaching 1st grade! I taught 2nd grade for four years. In addition to my time at CCDS, I bring with me four years of preschool teaching, along with a BA in Psychology from Long Beach State, an Ed. Specialist Credential, and a Multiple Subject Credential both from CSUC.

Teaching reading is my passion. I am thrilled to be teaching students foundational reading skills along with many other skills needed to be successful in both academics and in life. During my down time you can usually find me reading with a blanket and cat on my lap or tending to my garden. If I’m lucky, I’ll be at the beach sitting in a chair, listening to the waves crash.
