Max Montgomery

¡Hola! I’m Max Montgomery—second-grade teacher, Chico local, and firm believer that great learning happens with a guitar in hand. My classroom is student-centered, energetic, hands-on, and often filled with live music and joyful collaboration.

Coming from a family of educators (my mom teaches history over at PV High!), teaching is truly in my DNA. One of my favorite classroom “superpowers” is speaking Spanish, whether we’re picking up new vocabulary, singing bilingual songs, or connecting with families.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me biking around town with my amazing partner Amara, playing guitar, practicing my golf swing, or trying out a new recipe I found on Tik Tok. If you hear strumming or singing coming down the hall, it’s definitely room 2—come say hi!
