The 
Sports Release Document must be completed by all members of the CCDS Teams.  These will be handed out before cross-country season begins, and before volleyball and basketball tryouts. The sports release must be returned at tryouts. 
                                        

Volleyball ProgramTop of Page

Volleyball season takes place in the fall of each school year!  This is a co-ed program open to 6th-8th graders. This year Katherine Chapin and Pamela Wilson will lead the Eagles.
 
2018 Season Begins in August!
Volleyball tryouts will be held at the CCDS Gym on August 15-16 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.  All 6th-8th boys and girls interested in trying out for the team should plan on attending all tryout sessions. Beginning August 20, practices will be from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, on the days there are no games.

Jordan Williams and Chris Nixon are the CCDS coaches the boys and girls basketball teams. Girls Basketball begins in early October through the middle of December. CCDS Interscholastic Sports EligibilityTop of Page

Academic Eligibility

  • Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and not have any failing marks
  • Grade checks will commence when a sport begins.  Grade checks will thereafter be every two weeks.
  • If a student falls below the minimum requirements on a grade check, then he/she will be on probationary status for the following two weeks or until they prove their eligibility
  • Probationary status means that a student is still on the team and must attend all practices, but is ineligible to participate in games or meets until the student is academically eligible.
  • After a two week probation, if a student is still ineligible, it is the coach’s discretion as to how long the athlete will remain on the team.

Behavioral Eligibility

  • Students must show appropriate citizenship in the classroom.
  • Along with the grade check will be a teacher comment section regarding behavior.
  • It will be the coach’s discretion how classroom behavior affects playtime.
  • Serious or prolonged misbehavior may result in removal from the team.

Attendance Eligibility

  • If a student is absent from school, he/she is not eligible to play in that day’s game or meet
  • A student who is absent from school for more that three periods of a game day is not eligible to play.
  • A student who is unable or unwilling to participate in PE may not participate in that day’s practice, game, or meet.
